AI Usage Policy

Where we use AI tools in our business, and the limits we put on them.

Effective September 5, 2026

We use artificial-intelligence tools in parts of our business. This policy says where, and what limits we put on them, so that "we use AI" is a description rather than a shrug.

Where we use it

Where we do not

what you are charged, whether your order is accepted, or whether you receive a message.

your income, or anything about your household.

sent to a model.

What we do not put into these tools

We do not enter customer personal information — names, addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers or order contents — into general-purpose AI tools. Where we analyse sales data with AI assistance, we work with aggregated figures rather than individual customer records.

We do not let it train on you

We do not permit our providers to use our customers' personal information to train their models.

A person is responsible

AI-assisted work is reviewed by a person before it is published or acted on. The output of a tool is a draft. Claims about our products, and anything with a legal or regulatory dimension, are checked by a person against the source before they go out, and health and ingredient claims are never left to a model.

Accuracy

These tools get things wrong confidently. Where we have used AI to help produce something you are reading, it has been checked; if you find something inaccurate, tell us and we will correct it.

Changes

As we adopt or drop tools this policy will change. The effective date at the top says when it last did.
